Delete Your Bavua Account

This page explains how to delete your account for Bavua Display, the screen mirroring app from CodeGen Technologies (Pty) Ltd, operating under the trade name Bavua. Your Bavua account is the same on every device you use, so you only need to delete it once.

How to delete your account

Option 1: In the app

Deleting your account in the app takes effect immediately.

Android

  1. 1.Open Bavua Display and sign in.
  2. 2.Open Account.
  3. 3.Tap Delete Account and confirm.

Mac

  1. 1.Open Bavua Host and sign in.
  2. 2.Open Settings and go to the Account section.
  3. 3.Click Delete Account and confirm.

Option 2: By email

If you cannot use the app, for example because you have uninstalled it, email privacy@bavua.co.za from the email address of your Bavua account and ask us to delete the account. You do not need to install the app again. We delete the account within 30 days of receiving your request and reply to confirm when it is done.

If you have a paid subscription

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought in the App Store or Google Play, and the store keeps billing you for it. Cancel it in that store's subscription settings: App Store or Google Play.

If you bought your subscription on our website, cancel it before you delete your account, so that you are not billed again. To cancel, or if you are billed after your account has been deleted, email billing@bavua.co.za from the email address of your account.

What is deleted

When your account is deleted, we delete:

  • Your profile: name, email address, profile photo URL and the identifier from your sign-in provider
  • Your registered devices, including their names, device identifiers and local network IP addresses
  • Your sessions: start and end times, duration, frame rate and latency
  • Your device pairings and hosts
  • Any team you own (the team is removed for its members too)

What is kept, and for how long

  • Payment and purchase records: Kept for 7 years, because the law requires it.
  • Usage logs: Anonymized after 90 days and deleted after 1 year.

These retention periods are set out in the Data Retention section of our Privacy Policy.

How long it takes

  • In the app: Immediately. Your account is deleted as soon as you confirm, and this cannot be undone.
  • By email: Within 30 days of the day we receive your request.

As our Privacy Policy sets out, account data is not retained for longer than 30 days after your account is deleted.
